어둠 뿐이었던 어린시절

대전재활원에서 만난 강 선생님

감동의 바이올린 소리를 들었으니

가슴 뛰는 인생의 빛이 되었노라

 

라이트주립대학교 음악대학 교수

미국 오하이오주 데이튼 시민들의

유니버스트 심포니 오케스트라 지휘자

장애는 뛰어 넘는 선물을 받았음이라

 

투박하고 격정적인 손 끝에서

풍성한 수확 거두는 어부들처럼

한올 한올 오색 음표의 그물을 엮어 

세상 가슴에 맺힌 상처 치유하리라

 

내 삶의 절정은 끝나지 않았다

어려서 받은 사랑빚 너무나 커서

깊은 계곡만큼 높은 정상 갚으리라

휠체어는 나의 날개가 되었노라

A childhood when there was only darkness
Professor Kang met at Daejeon Rehabilitation Center
I heard the violin sound that moved me
Became the light of a heart-pounding life

Citizens of Dayton, Ohio, USA
Conductor of the Universal Symphony Orchestra
Disability is a gift that transcends
 
At the tip of a crude and passionate fingertip
Like fishermen who reap a bountiful harvest
Weaving a net of five-colored notes one by one
I will heal the wounds in the heart of the world
 
The peak of my life is not over
The love debt I received when I was young is too big
I will repay the summit as high as the deep valley
The wheelchair has become my wings
